PATEY, Derek Colin – age 29, Grand Manan, New Brunswick, formerly of Yarmouth, passed away accidentally on Monday, January 1, 2018 in Seal Cove, Grand Manan. Born February 14, 1988 in Yarmouth, he was a son to Russell and Shirley (Robicheau) Patey. Derek loved working as a fisherman, fishing for lobster, halibut and scallops. He enjoyed the outdoors, and especially liked hunting and fishing. Aside from his loving “Grand Manan family”, Derek will be sadly missed by his parents, Russell and Shirley Patey, Yarmouth; brothers, Russell, Yarmouth; Daniel (Stacy), Montreal; Robert and Todd, both of Port-aux-Basques, Nfld.; paternal grandparents, Ross and Gertie Patey, Port-aux-Basques; a nephew, T.J. and a niece, Carrie. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Louis and Thelma Robicheau. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to Huskilson’s Funeral Home to help pay funeral expenses.
