THOMAS, David Michael “Guva” –
April 12, 1963 – March 19, 2018
Sadly on March 19, 2018; age 54 years. Loving companion of Carla Delorimier. Beloved father of Heather (Cody Joe), Maegan, David Jr. (Jesse), Karyss, Brent, Brandon, Nicole, Alyssa and Kacey. Cherished grandfather of Royce, Liam, Lennon, Conley, Ah’Werrie and Aylah. Dear brother of Vicki (Tony Jr.), Scott (Virginia), Eileen, Sharon (James), Robert and Louis (Rachel). Predeceased by his parents Abraham and Hazel (née White) Thomas. Also predeceased by his infant brother Russell. Guva attended St. Regis Village School, Bishop MacDonell, and General Vanier Secodary School where he referred to himself as the “All-Star Quarterback”. He was an all-around athlete and sports enthusiast. Guva was an avid Boston Bruins fan. He especially enjoyed watching his grandson Royce play hockey and lacrosse. Guva will be remembered for his sense of humor, his “fonz” like hair, and the time he spent on the links and the ball field with his friends. David will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of LAHAIE & SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482). Visitation will be held at the Homemakers Centre in Snye from 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 until time of Service on Monday. Funeral Monday, March 26, 2018 for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Regis Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to Akwesasne Cancer Support Group would be appreciated by the family.
