DAVID JOSEPH LATWAITIS

It is with great sadness, that we, the family of David Joseph Latwaitis, age 62, of Sydney Mines, announce his passing on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney on April 22, 1956, David was the son of Doreen (DiPersio) Latwaitis and the late John Latwaitis of Sydney Mines.
David worked for a time at Marine Atlantic, Devco and Seaboard, as well as other jobs. He had the ability to play just about any musical instrument and enjoyed entertaining at local gatherings. David also enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was a long-standing member of the KOC in Sydney Mines.
He is survived by mother Doreen Latwaitis, sisters, Pat (Steve) Gillis and Linda Davies, both of Moncton, NB, as well as nephews Scott and Michael Gillis and nieces Bhreagh and Erin Davies, and great-niece Isabel Gillis, all of Moncton.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Main St., Sydney Mines, with Fr. J.J. MacDonald officiating. Donations may be made to the Diabetes Canada or the charity of your choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
