Obituary of Darren Charney
November 16, 1968 – December 17, 2018
Darren Charney passed away unexpectedly from Myotonic Dystrophy at 50 years of age, in his home in Grande Prairie on December 17, 2018.
Darren attended the Ridgevalley school from Kindergarten to Grade 12, graduating in 1987. He worked at a variety of jobs in the Grande Prairie area for the majority of his adult life. Darren enjoyed music and playing instruments and he completed a minimum of 39 skydiving jumps throughout his 20’s and 30’s.
Darren is survived by his fiancée, Coleen King, his father, Norm Charney, siblings; Leah (Bruce) Turgeon, and Doug (Jamie Bruvold) Charney and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Lois Charney.
A Memorial Service for Darren will be held on Saturday, December 29th at 2pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home/Richmond Reception Centre, 11802 99 Ave. Grande Prairie.
