Darren “Smitty” Smith, aged 46 of Sand Lake, Elgin, ON died suddenly on Friday September 21, 2018. Beloved and devoted husband of Diane (Paddle) for 21 incredible years. Loving father of Jason (19) and Abby (17). Dear brother of Sheri (Troy) Jenner. Dedicated son to John and the late Cheryl Smith and wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews. Darren was an avid outdoorsman and loved the water. He was taken far too soon and will be dearly missed by his righthand man, Jamie Kirkpatrick and everyone who knew him.
The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home – Kingston Chapel on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.
A Celebration Of Life will be held at the Edith Rankin Memorial United Church, 4080 Bath Road, Kingston on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe account (Darren “Smitty” Smith Family Fund) has been established to support the family.
