Obituary of Daniel Neil Sr.
Passed peacefully away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, Daniel Neil Sr. of Harbour Grace, age 93 years. Predeceased by parents: Daniel and Mary; daughter: Mary; granddaughter: Danielle; two brothers and five sisters. Leaving to mourn, wife: Theresa; five daughters: Linda (Tony) Mercer, Shearstown, Marilyn (Jack) Hunt, Harbour Grace, Janet Cleary (Neil), Bristol’s Hope, Hilda Neil (Hubert), Bishop’s Cove, and Debbie (Roger) Ludlow, Goulds; five sons: Daniel (Frances) Taylor, St. Lewis, Daniel (Brenda), Walter (Janet), and Paul (Carolann), all of Harbour Grace, and Glenn (Denise), Carbonear; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law: Mildred Hunt, Shearstown; furry friends: Teddy and Lucky; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace on Friday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, September 8 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Harbour Grace. At Daniel’s request, cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Baccalieu Trail SPCA, P.O. Box 273, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1B7 or a charity of one’s choice.
