Colin Raymond MacGillivray
MacGillivray, Colin Raymond
Age 36, of Lower Sackville, passed away Sept. 21 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Halifax on December 16, 1981, he is the son of Colin and Eileen (Benoit) MacGillivray.
Predeceased by his grandparents, Charlie and Gladys Benoit and Colin F. MacGillivray, and uncles Jarvis and Vernon Benoit, he is survived by his parents, brothers and sisters, Colette (Kevin) Fudge, Robert (Pamela), Luke (Dayna), Thomas and Lisa (Paul MacRae), as well as paternal grandmother Tena MacGillivray. He is a loving uncle to Kyle, Matthew and Kristina Fudge, Jayce MacGillivray, Alexandra and Sophie MacDonald, and Vanessa MacGillivray.
Collie graduated from Sackville High School in 2000 (special thanks to his long time EPA, Kathy Peek, who has remained in close contact with him since.)
Despite a lifetime of affliction, Collie never lost his love of family and friends, his tremendous sense of humour, or his faith. He really enjoyed family and other social gatherings, especially when there was music. In his earlier years, he enjoyed camping trips with family and uncle Bob and Aunt Linda.
With all he endured, he never complained.
There will be a funeral mass held at St. Elizabeth Seton, 125 Metropolitan Ave., Lr. Sackville, on Saturday, September 29 at 11:00 in the morning, with Father Charlie Burke officiating. A reception will follow in the church; interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
We would like to thank all those people, relatives and friends, who were good to Collie throughout his long illness, as well as the many nurses and doctors who cared for him, particularly Eden Gouthro.
