Clifton Wayne Brandt June 10th 2018

We celebrate the life of Clifton Wayne Brandt who passed away June 10th at the age of 78. He was born in 1939 in Ponoka, Alberta to Gene and Margaret (Henderson) Brandt before the family set out for the bountiful North Okanagan in the late 1940’s. Cliff was a man who didn’t hesitate to express love and gratitude to those around him. He was a craftsman who lived and worked energetically amongst the things he made; machinery, tools, furniture and his fine wood sculptures. He was accomplished as a machinist, toolmaker, musician, entrepreneur and businessman. He was always elated to share a good meal or a fishing trip with someone he liked and would enthusiastically talk about it long after. He became especially fond of dogs in his later years. Cliff was also a cancer survivor for more than a decade and with optimism, overcame numerous obstacles in his life. His absence will be felt by all who knew him. Cliff is survived by his children Jeff, Dwayne, Neil, and Susan and their families in Winnipeg, Vancouver, Toronto and Vernon; four grandchildren; sisters Gloria Smith and Rosemary Falkins of Armstrong; brothers Clayton and Keith of Vernon; and sister in-law Wanda of Vernon.
He was predeceased by sisters Evelyn and Carolyn and brother Ken.
Instead of flowers, Cliff would have appreciated donations to the Vernon Salvation Army, the BC Cancer Foundation, or in aid of diabetes education, care and research. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Schubert Centre in Vernon on June 30th, 2018 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
