Peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa on Saturday, July 7th, at the age of 89 years. Beloved husband of Julie for 54 years. Cherished father to three redheads: Jane, Susan and Sandra. Loved grandfather to Katherine, Adrien, Miguel, Matthew and Emily. Father-in-Law to Nicolas and Alfie. He is predeceased by his sister Valerie (Joe). Uncle to David and Steve (Judie) in England.
Born in Dundee, Scotland, Clem came to Canada in 1953 after obtaining his chartered accountant’s degree. Within days he secured a position with the accounting firm of Riddell Stead, Graham and Hutchinson and later worked for many years as a tax accountant for Lafarge Canada in Montreal.
He never forgot his Scottish roots and was past president of the St. Andrew’s Society of Montreal where he enjoyed whiskey tastings and celebrating Robbie Burns day.
He was an avid golfer and bridge player and will be remembered for his wit and sense of humour. We thank all his caregivers as well as the doctors, nurses and volunteers at the QCH for their excellent, compassionate care.
