Cecil Raeburn Cahill
1922-2018
The death occured peacefully at the Margaret Stewart Ellis
Home, O’Leary, on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, of Cecil Raeburn
Cahill, farmer and lifelong resident of Kildare, in his 96th
year.
Loving father to Florence (John), Edward (Darlene), and David
(Paula). Grandfather of Michael Cahill, (Donna), Melanie
Gallant (Serge), and Chris Cahill, great grandfather of Alicyn
Cahill, Calab and Brielle Gallant. Dear brother to
Zoie McCloskey, MacKenzie of Witby, ON, Sr. Marie Cahill, CSM,
Charlottetown and Sr. Annett Cahill, CSM, Charlottetown, and
sister-in-law Rita Boehn, Kitchener, ON and many nieces and
nephews.
Predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary (nee McCue)
in 2016 and his granddaughter Mandy Lynn Rayner in 2014.
Also predeceased by his parents Herman and Josephine (O’Brien) Cahill,
brothers Lorne and Joseph, Sisters Doris McGuigan, Deleva Handrahan,
Rita Chalis, and Ada Cahill.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel,
Alberton. Visitation on Thursday, September 13th, 2 to 4 pm
and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral will be held Friday afternoon at
Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, where funeral Mass will be celebrated
by Rev. Andrew MacDonald at 2:30 pm.
Interment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Children’s Wish
Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
The harvest is done, the tractor is in the shed, time to rest
your head.
