Obituary of Catherine Joyce Aitken
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Joyce “Cathy” Aitken of River Bourgeois that occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on July 27th, 2018, at the age of 68 years. Born June 19, 1950 in Montreal, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Lunn) Fougere.Left to mourn her passing is her husband of 46 years, Brian Rodney; daughter, Wendy Sampson (Leon), Louisdale, Carole Cameron (Neil), Fort MacMurray; sons, James, Michael (Melinda), both of Fort MacMurray; grandchildren, Hannah, Bradley, Tara, Emma, Katie, Kayla, Nyla, Zachaey and Ryan; brothers, Michael (Valerie), River Bourgeois, Richard (Lynn), Quebec, and Paul (Julie), Ontario. Cathy was an active Board member of River Bourgeois Mariner’s Society and a former member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47 Grand Anse Ladies Auxiliary and St. John the Baptist Parish C.W.L. Visitation will be held at River Bourgeois Community Visitation Parlour in River Bourgeois on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11am in St. John the Baptist Church in River Bourgeois with Rev. Antolin Asor presiding. Burial to follow in St. John the Baptist Parish Cemetery in River Bourgeois. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the River Bourgeois Mariner’s Society or to the charity of one’s choice A reception will be held at the Tara Lynn Centre in River Bourgeois following the committal.
