Carvell Durwood Finnie
1932-2018
Carvell (Chum) D. Finnie of Magaguadavic, NB passed away at the Dr.
Everett Chalmers Hospital on November 25, 2018. Carvell was born in
1932 at Magaguadavic, NB, a son of the late Gordon and Elsie (Henry)
Finnie.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Henderson) Finnie; daughters,
Nancy Wasylyniuk (Merv), Barrie, ON, Rose Mary Funk (Ken), Winnipeg,
MB and Velma Murray (Rob), Fredericton, NB; sons, Curtis Finnie and
Roger Finnie (Rachel), both of Magaguadavic Lake, NB and Kevin Finnie
(Sherry), Fredericton, NB; fifteen grandchildren, Laura (Stan),
Michael, Lisa, Jennifer (Kyle), Beverly (Paul), Michael (Alison),
Natasha (Mike), Rose, Victoria, Adam (Emily), Chris (Holly), Chad
(Kierra), Michelle (Nick), Venessa and Cody; several great
grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; several nieces and
nephews; three step-children, Marlene Hughes (Mark), Lincoln, NB,
Barbara Kelly (Patrick), Boiestown, NB and Don Finnie, Fredericton, NB
and their families.
In addition to his parents, Carvell was predeceased by his first wife,
Patricia (Firlotte) Finnie; a grandson Jason Townes; sisters, Irma
Hickey, Connie Bell and Phyllis Fraser; brothers, Douglas, Vernon,
Howard, Cecil, Blake, Otis Finnie and infant Glenwood.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3,
Harvey Station, NB on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm and on Friday,
November 30, 2018 from 12 noon until the hour of funeral service at 2
pm with Rev. Roger Cole officiating. A reception will follow at the
funeral chapel. Interment will be at a later date at Pine Grove
Cemetery in Magaguadavic.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Carvell, the family
has suggested the Pine Grove Cemetery or a charity of the
donor’s choice.
