Obituary of Carl Agar
On September 18th, 2018 the world lost a hero. With heavy hearts, Jo-Anne, Zachary and Zoe said goodbye to Carl Agar aged 60 (born September 9th, 1958) in their home together.
From the east side of Boston Massachusetts, Carl came to Canada with his family; mother Alice (nee Anderson) and his siblings Rod Agar and Leslie Agar-Waite. Shortly after Carl arrived in Ontario, he met his wife of 38 years Jo-Anne Mitchell Agar.
With Jo-Anne, Carl travelled, built his home and the homes of others, before being given the greatest gift he could be blessed with. “My children are the greatest things my wife could have blessed me with, worth more than any material possessions.”
Carl Agar is best known for his countless talents and contributions to his community. His family, friends will miss him, musical groups especially the Mandolin Society of Peterborough and his fishing groups most recently Cold Creek Fly Fishers. Carl will be greatly missed by his wife Jo-Anne and children Zachary Larson and his partner Jessie Elena, and Zoe Alexandra, his mother Alice, father Gordon, and his stepmother Kathleen. His siblings Leslie and Rodrick their children Elizabeth, Debra Jean, Joshua and Justin. He will also be missed by his drop in children, Frankie Black and Symon Boots. His legacy will be carried on by his best friends James and Donna Woodstock, Gary Peeples, Matt Parnell and Joe.
We will be celebrating Carl’s life on Saturday, September 29th at The Venue 2:00 pm, well into the night.
Any donations can be made in Carl’s name to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
