Obituary Overview
Beverly Rene Kennedy
BEVERLY RENE KENNEDY
1941 – 2018
Beverly Rene Kennedy was born in Belleville in 1941 to Harry and Irene Brown. She attended Albert College and went on to Ryerson Polytechnical Institute to study medical laboratory technology. After working at various hospitals in Toronto, Montreal and Melbourne, Australia, she returned home to marry Bill, her husband of nearly 52 years. They had 2 daughters in Montreal, Suzanne and Laurie. In 1974, Bev and her family moved to Prince George, British Columbia, where she worked as a lab technician while also performing her super-mom duties such as costume-maker, choir chaperone, hair-fixer, cheering section, seamstress, chauffeur and many other roles she played tirelessly. She and her family enjoyed many vacations together, their camping travels across Canada taking them coast to coast and to the Yukon and Alaska.
Bev returned to Ontario with her family in 1982 where they lived in Brampton until 1997. During this time Bev became a grandmother to Brian and Kelsey; they were bright lights in each other’s lives. The impact she had on her grandchildren can’t be overstated and she will be forever missed. They will especially miss her whole-hearted hugs and her big laugh. Memories of their grandma will be filled with funny stories which will comfort and entertain them for years to come.
Bev did a full circle and came back to live in Belleville in 1997 where she volunteered in various capacities with the Belleville Hospital Auxiliary for twenty years, including the role of president. Her colleagues and friends remember her cheery smile and sense of humour.
Most recently, Bev and Bill enjoyed the trip of a lifetime to visit her relatives in Australia. Although she did many exciting things, what made her happiest while she was there was the time spent with family, learning the history of places she visited and watching dogs playing in the dog park at the beach. The simple things in life gave Bev the greatest joy. She loved reading, listening to classical music and opera, singing and over the years telling stories to her children and grandchildren. Her laughter and loving care will be missed but she will forever remain a presence in the lives of her family.
