Betty Ann Sinclair 2018

Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
SINCLAIR, Betty Ann – It is with broken hearts that the Sinclair Family celebrates the passing of Betty Ann our grandmother, mother, sister, and friend. Betty went to heaven at 6:35 AM on 30 August, in the ICU of GNGH, to be with her mother Grace and her father William. Betty was a one of a kind person who loved life in her own way. She didn’t have a mean sliver in her life. She was a pure as any human could be. She was an undercover Angel. This world sighed when she left it to go be in heaven. Betty was a grandmother to Isabelle, Grant and Sean. She was Bill Sinclair’s big sister. She was a sister in law to Nicole and a mother in law to Angele. She was like another daughter to Ruth Ann Prevost. To me she was a mother. Betty was born on September 22, 1940, on a Sunday morning in Port Colborne. She was her parents first of two children. She was born normal and healthy.
At the age of 5, Betty contracted Meningitis. This proved to be life altering for her as her mental abilities were inhibited for life. Despite this challenge, Betty strove to live a good life. Through the help of Community Living and other social agencies, she learned important life skills which would help her become the beautiful woman she became. She was a champion in life. Betty was known to be an avid bowler, dancer, heart breaker, craft entrepreneur, and the best at colouring anything on paper. She loved Elvis Presley and Ann Murray music. Although these are great qualities her best quality was her need to give to others. Betty always thought of others before herself. Betty made countless crocheted placemats and coloured pictures for anyone new she met. Later on in life when she lived at the Welland Hospital and the Meadows of Dorchester she could always be found asking people their names so that she may go and colour for them and address it to them personally.
Thank you to so many people for helping Betty become the great person she was. Thank you in her last days to the staff of the Meadows of Dorchester and the staff of the Intensive Care Unit of GNGH. Specifically we would like to thank nurses Elsa Marie, Eden, Pete, Gary, Rachel, and Jenn.
In keeping with Betty’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Wednesday September 5 at 2:30 PM at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (2000 Merrittville Hwy at the corner of Hwy #20) 905-892-1699. Memorial donations to Community Living -Port Colborne will be appreciated by her family.
