Betty Amelia Taylor
Betty Amelia Taylor (Seldon) – Died peacefully at home on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at the age of 86. Betty had recently returned to her childhood home of Belleville from London. Born in Oshawa, daughter of Harold and Gladys (Eaton) Seldon. Survived by son Jeff and Julie Taylor of Hamilton, Andria (Dave) and Julia, daughter Cathy and Doug Maguire of Dorchester, Amanda (Dave) and Ryan, daughter Ann and Bill Ropp of Belleville, Jordan and Meaghan, daughter-in-law Pam Taylor of Chatham, Scott (Liz) and Dan (Sarah), and six great grandchildren. Predeceased by husband Philip Arthur Taylor (2007), son Chris (2007), granddaughter Amelia (1988), sister Marnie Barnes (1984), and infant brother Robert (1936). Betty graduated from Wellesley Hospital in 1957, working at hospitals in Chatham and Campbellford. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and nurse as well as a lifelong volunteer. Betty was an outdoor enthusiast from an early age. She enjoyed sailing on the Bay of Quinte with her father, camping with her family, and long walks with her dogs. She enjoyed a good card game and took up wood carving as a challenge in her later years. Betty will forever be remembered enjoying a walk along the bay shore. She will be missed by her furry friend Jiggs. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Paramed, Dr. Patrick Esperanzate and staff, staff and doctors at Belleville General Hospital and London Health Sciences Centre, and Dr. Kelly Parks. A private memorial service was held at Burke Funeral Home in Belleville for family members.
