1921-2018
Bertha Melanson, 96, of Manoir Notre-Dame Inc., Moncton and formerly
of Notre-Dame, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on
Sunday April 22, 2018 at the Dr Georges L Dumont UHC, Moncton. She
was married to the late Edmond Melanson (1993). Born in Grande-Digue,
she was the daughter of the late Ovila and the late Léonie
(LeBlanc) Hébert.
She was a cook for the Filles de Jésus, Moncton for many
years.
She will be dearly missed by her six children; Florence LeBlanc
(Clarence), Rhéa Poirier (late Paul-Emile) of Notre-Dame and
Francine Fontaine (Robert) of Moncton, Normand (Ronalda) of Gardner,
Mass, Jean-Paul (Bernadette) and Gerald (Alfreda) of Notre-Dame. She
also leaves thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and
four great great grandchildren as well as several nephews and
nieces.
She was predeceased by one son Bernard (1943), four sisters; Orise,
Hermance, Marguerite and Thérèse as well as four
brothers; Henri, Léo, Oscar and Omer.
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur,
Notre-Dame on Wednesday April 25, 2018 from 4 to 6:45 pm. Funeral
Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 25 at the Notre-Dame Church
at 7:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
In Bertha’s memory donations may be made to the CHU DUMONT
Foundation «palliative care».
Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral
Home, Bouctouche.
