On Saturday, August 4, 2018, Barbara Joyce Lien, daughter and sister, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness. Barb will be forever remembered by her mother Emma Lien, her brother Cliff Lien and a great many friends and relatives.
Barb was born in Manning, Alberta on June 21, 1950. The family moved to Sherwood Park in 1960 and she graduated high school in 1969. Very early in her career she went to work for the Province of Alberta and spent her entire working life there. She was diagnosed with MS when she was 40 and was forced to take a disability retirement at the turn of the millennium. She spent the final 12 years of her life with dear friends and caretakers at the Good Samaritan Millwoods Centre.
Barb was predeceased by her father, Stanley Lien, in 2003.
A Memorial Service in memory of Barb will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, August 10th, 2018, at Connelly-McKinley Edmonton South, 4820 Meridian Street, Edmonton.
Memorial donations in memory of Barbara may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
