It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our much loved husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather, Gus James of Trepassey age 86, who passed peacefully in the presence of his loving family on December 9, 2018.
Predeceased by parents William & Gertrude, mother & father-in-law William & Pauline Fleming, brother George, brothers in-law, Albert & Don Fleming, Keith Halleran, Dermot White, Mike Phelan, William Lago & Albert Sutton, sister in-law Monnie Fleming.
Leaving to mourn with grateful hearts for our many precious memories his devoted wife of 60 years, Lucella; daughters, Linda (Wayne North), Geraldine (Craig Simms), Diane (Gerry Conway), Janet (Philip Wilson), Germaine (Ron Corrigan) & Bonnie (Tony Waddleton). Sons, Garry (Colleen), Shawn (LeeAnn), Keith (Kim) & Craig (Mary). Grandchildren Kelly (Gerry), Carolyn, Marsha (Jeff), Tarah (Darrin), & Chad (Elaine); Adam (Samantha) & Lacey (Noel); Kyle & Kelsey; Bradley (Amanda) & Keisha (RJ); Daniel (Gina), Corey (Andrea) & Brittany; Lee (Jillian), Chasity & Cody; Rebecca & Emily; Christopher, Cassie (Justin), Candace(Dale), & Brandan; Alicia, Angel & Joshua. Great grandchildren Gussie & Emma, Christian & Coltyn, Conner, Mya & Logan; Owen; Karson; Abel & Annabelle. Brother Ed, sisters Philomena Sutton, Kate Lago & Colette Phelan. Sisters in-law Isabell & Sue James. And extended members of the James and Fleming families. Special thanks to his family doctor of 40 years, Dr. Thomas McGarry; parish priest & family friend, Fr. Peter Golden and his nurses, Lorna Lawlor & Stacey Dort and his granddaughter Keisha Conway-Hussey for their professional care and compassion.
Visitation at Fahey’s Funeral Home, Trepassey on Tuesday, December 11 from 2:00 to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, December 12 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Redeemer Parish Church on Wednesday, December 12 at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation to Canadian Mental Health Association (NL).
