Anthony Joseph “Tony” (Bubsy) passed away peacefully in his 69th year at the Stratford General Hospital on July 21, 2018
He was born at Stratford on December 24, 1949. Tony was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Helen, brother Joseph Alfred, sister Carol Ann Vertulia, brother in law Steve Darbyson, Mother in-law Evelyn Rowland, brother in-law Gary Rowland.
Survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Judy (nee Rowland), Sons Joe (Jessica), Michael (Michelle), Grandchildren Ryder, Madison, Kaiden; sisters Marlene (Bob) Gould, Nancy (Jake) Douthwaite, Shirley Darbyson, sister in law Janice (David) Gould, Debbie (Bob) Spittal. Also survived by his aunt Phyllis and uncle Frank Mathison, many nieces, nephews and Tony’s best friend Freeway.
Tony’s was extremely proud of his sons Joe and Michael and of each of his grandchildren Ryder, Madison and Kaiden. He was a lifetime resident of Stratford, member of the Army and Navy for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and loved his time at his trailer in Kincardine. He had a passion for woodworking, landscaping and spent many hours in his backyard making it a beautiful place to sit and relax and enjoy what he had created. Tony worked for the CNR for 25 years and later worked at Saint Michael High School for 27 years.
Visitation Tuesday, July 24th from 6-9 pm at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. A private family service will be held Wednesday July 25 followed by a public celebration of life at the Army and Navy, 151 Lorne Avenue, East, Stratford starting at 12:30 pm.
