ALLAN ROBERT BANKS
January 6, 1926 – January 28, 2018
Allan is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Alice, his 5 children, Reed, Murray, Patti Clark (Kim), Darrell (Mitzi), Glen (Sherri), 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Dad was born in Hazenmore Saskatchewan to parents Bob and Alma Banks and grew up on the farm with his siblings, Claire, Joyce and Ross. He attended the U of S in Saskatoon and completed his BSc in Agricultural Engineering in 1950. Dad went to work in the Oil & Gas Industry as a Geophysicist, working in Western Canada, the Middle East, Calgary and Norway before retiring in Calgary. He was an avid golfer, curler, baseball player and gardener and enjoyed watching sports and Y & R on T.V. Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling the world and had many interesting stories to tell about their adventures together. We would like to thank the staff at Rockyview Hospital and Father Lacombe Care Centre for their excellent care, in Dad’s last months of life. The family will hold a private celebration of Allan’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice, in Allan’s name.
