Alberto Lemos Silveira, passed away at Southwood Hospice on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the age of 79 years.
He was the caring father of Alberto Leonel Silveira of Calgary, Robert Carlos Silveira of Calgary, and step-children Joao Fernando Botelho of Vancouver and Isabel Botelho of Ontario. He will also be missed by his grandchild Alyssa and step-grandchildren Brian, Melissa, Jessica, Noa and Vanessa. Alberto will also be remembered by his siblings Maria Joao, Saozinha, Fernanda, Americo, Armando, Angelo and his dear friend Maria Alice Feliciano. He was predeceased by his wife, Maria Joao Silveira.
Albert was born and raised on Terceira, the Azores Islands. He was one of nine siblings and attended school on the island. He was a very skilled carpenter who embraced his talent and made a living from it. He eventually migrated to Canada with his family in 1971 where he planted roots what would become home. Albert loved visiting with family and friends, active member of the Portuguese Community in Calgary and a strong believer in the Catholic Faith. During his retirement, he travelled abroad enjoying vacations and when home, he kept a steady routine.
