Abner Beecher Dewar

Abner
Beecher Dewar, age 88, beloved husband of Flora Clare (Wallace) Dewar,
passed away at the Kings County Memorial Hospital on Saturday,
February 17, 2018. Born in Brudenell, he was the son of the late H. W.
Beecher and Hazel Ruth (MacNeil) Dewar. Abner is survived by his
daughter Linda (Robert) Irving; brothers Charles (Frances) and Preston
(Georgina) and sister Vera as well as a number of cousins, nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Keith and Harvey, who passed
away when infants. Abner had a long and illustrious career and retired
as the head of the Fisheries Inspection Laboratory for the Maritime
Region of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and as a food science
and technology consultant for South East Asia.
Resting at
Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home, with visiting on Tuesday
February 20th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service to take place at
the Church of Christ, Montague, Wednesday February 21st at
11:00 am. Interment to follow in the Brudenell Cemetery. Donations to
the Brudenell Cemetery or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of PEI would
be appreciated.
