It is with great sadness and loss that the family of Warren
Calder announces the passing of this amazing human being on February
3, 2023 at his home on Deer Island, NB.
He was born in Moncton, NB and grew up on Deer Island, NB as
well as becoming a US citizen where he lived for over 20 years
returning to his beloved Deer Island in 2015 where he and his wife,
Antionette intended to live out their days.
Warren was hard as nails and tough as leather as he would
always say. He fought a good fight, but sadly in the end he had to
give up the fight. He lived an amazing life and touched so
many people in so many ways, that he lives on in our hearts and
memories. He was a very special man, a devoted husband,
father, brother, uncle, friend, grandfather and
great-grandfather.
Warren was a veteran of the Canadian Army for 8 ½
years. He was a Lifetime member of the Royal Canadian
Dragoons(tanker), Anah Temple Wheeler &
32nd Degree Mason Lodge#52 & #69 and
Anah Shriner, Life Member of the Anah Temple Mandarin Tong

32 years where he was the one and only
« Sugarbear ». He was also a firefighter/first
responder on the Deer Island Fire Department for 7 years. He
was a board member of the Recreational Council of Deer
Island.
Warren was an amazing man. He was always there to listen,
teach and help when ever it was needed. He was a dedicated
Chief Engineer on the DIP ll for Coastal Transport, a boat and job
that he loved. He was very involved in the Deer Island
Community which he loved dearly.
He was pre-deceased by his father, Ernest Melvin Calder,
mother Anna Claudette (Roy) Calder, and son, Donny and brother-in-law,
Greg Darke. He is survived by his loving wife,
Antionette (Smith) Calder, son Anthony Smith & wife, Crystal
of Richmond California , grandchildren, Shane, Aryana, Emma, Tyler,
Dillion and great-grandson, Jackson. Sister Barbara (Calder)
Darke, brother John Calder & wife Wanda (Johnson) Calder. He
is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews,
friends, family, and the list is endless. He truly was a man among
men. He is also survived by his fur baby,
Gracey.
Warren was one of kind and represented the best in
humankind. No, he was not perfect, but he was loving,
giving, sharing, helping and so charming. He loved hunting,
4 wheeling, his Saturday night card games, his Timmy’s
double-doubles, driving his Rocky Ridge, spending time with friends
and family. Loved talking politics, history, working
outside, snuggling with his fur babies.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Charlotte
County Shriners, Charlotte County SPCA as Warren loved
animals. Donations can be made to any charity in his name as
he was a most giving individual. Condolences may be sent to the family
