Teresa died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on June 20th. 2023.
Born December 14, 1927, she arrived in Canada in 1952. Alongside her two sons, Anthony and Alfredo, she looked forward to connecting with her husband Michael, who had arrived earlier to establish their new home and start their new lives together in Canada.
For the next 57 years, Teresa and Michael were dedicated to raising 9 children, instilling in them values passed on to them and, the importance of family. Her religious and spiritual beliefs were strong; a dedicated parishioner and contributor at both St. Helen’s and St. Charles Church in Toronto – coordinating social events and assisting with community causes. Teresa always put others’ interests in front of hers seamlessly; sacrificing always on behalf of her family. As a dedicated mother and wife, Teresa enjoyed hosting and spearheading family events; sharing meals and gatherings of family was important to her. Being a Mother was truly her calling. Teresa’s untiring devotion to keeping her family united and strong was apparent throughout her life. It is the culmination of Teresa’s life long efforts that resulted in the special gift of spending her final years surrounded by 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Beloved wife to Michele of 57 years. Loving mother to Antonio (Laura), Alfredo (France), Maria, Joseph, Carlo (Barbara), George (Victoria), Frank (Donna), Paul (Sandy) and to Rosanna. Teresa will be sadly missed by her many extended family members and friends.
Family and Friends will be received at Bernardo Funeral Home,(2960 Dufferin Street, Toronto (416-789-7661) on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (811 Lawrence Ave. W., at Dufferin St.) on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 1:30 pm.
Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
