Richard’s Obituary
COMEAU, Richard– Age 86, of St. Alphonse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in Villa Acadienne, Meteghan. He was a son of the late Benoit and Carrie Comeau.
He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes Comeau and is survived by his children, Andrea Strelau, Coquitlam, BC; Randy, Glenn, and Jason, all of Porter’s Lake; siblings, Judy, Antigonish, Rusty, Lloyd and Barbara all of St Alphonse; grandchildren, Odette, Luc, Jared, Brooke, and Tyler.
Richard was a man of few words who enjoyed a beer with friends, and took great pride in a job well done whether it was during his time at E.M. Comeau lumber mill, driving dump trucks or at Aberdeen Paving as an equipment operator. He was a dedicated member of the Meteghan Volunteer Fire Department until his health no longer allowed him to respond to emergencies.
He was predeceased by brothers, Larry, Ernest, and David, and sister, Mildred.
Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 10:30am in L`Église de St. Alphonse officiated by Rev Hospice Akoffodji. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
