It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Raymond (Ray) Anthony Gajdemski at his residence in Azilda, Ontario on May 17, 2024, at the age of 73. He was surrounded by his family during his final days. Ray is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Patricia (Guindon) and his loving children Todd (Adèle) and Dale (Nancy). He was the proud grandfather to Sladen and Gavin. Ray is predeceased by his parents Peter and Olga, survived by his brother Allen Gajdemski (Charmaine) and his sister Teresa Furgala (Pat). His in-laws Bert and Georgette Guindon (predeceased), Liliane and Camille Gauthier (predeceased), Cis McCormick (Mel predeceased), Roger Guindon (Toby), Jacquie Roney (Ron predeceased). He will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephews and many friends, not to mention his lifelong buddies with whom he still gathered twice a year for a weekend of poker at the cottage. Ray spent over 35 years as a miner then as an electrician for Inco. Throughout his life, he was an avid outdoorsman and he loved to be in nature. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or playing cards, he spent much of his time at the family cottage on Ella Lake. He shared this passion with his sons and grandsons. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. At Ray’s request there will be no visitation or service.
