Obituary
With profound sadness, the family of Ralph Joseph Caines wish to announce his sudden, but peaceful passing at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in St. John’s NL, on April 3, 2024, at the age of 78 years.
He will forever be missed by his daughter Charmaine (Blaine), and his namesake Dale Ralph (Candace).
Left to mourn and remember lovingly will be his partner, Kathleen and her children Lori Ann & Michael.
Also missing their beloved “Poppy” will be his adored grandchildren, Alex (Becky), Emily (Riley) and Charliez as well as their Nan, Debbie.
Ralph will also be terribly missed by his brother Walter (Helen), and sisters, Anne (Tom) and Genny (Eric) along with an incredible circle of his nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Frederick Joseph Caines, Mary Blanche Caines (nee Hinks), and his siblings, Gus, Fred, George, Artie, Nioma, Minnie, Kitty and Loretta.
Ralph’s family would like to extend a personal and heartfelt thank you to Tony Gilbert who was there for him in his time of need. Your quick action allowed his children to be by his side and will never be forgotten.
To the incredible ICU staff at St. Clare’s, Dr. Clayden, all Ralph’s nurses, with a very special and heartfelt thank you to our angel Nurse “Alex”, (appropriately named in our opinion) for giving him the most amazing care, we can’t thank them enough.
As per Ralph’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and his final resting location will be in Mount Patricia Cemetery in Corner Brook along with a special and loving tribute to be held at a later date in Canmore, Alberta where he spent a number of years with his children and grandchildren. A part of him will rest in the majestic Rocky Mountains.
The family will be receiving friends and family at Parsons Funeral Home, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, from 7-9pm, where also the memorial service lead by his daughter Charmaine will take place Thursday, April 11th, 2024, at 2:00 pm.
