It is with profound sadness that we
announce the passing of Muriel Minnie
Dunphy, 95, of Port Elgin. Muriel passed away
peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 16,
2023 Born in Port Elgin, she was a daughter of the late
Harry and Estella (Walton) Ingalls.
Muriel was a member of the Trinity
United Church, Port Elgin and had been an active member or the Eastern
Star. She was very fond of animals, and in particular her
cat, Tuck. She enjoyed painting, clogging and swimming in
the Northumberland Strait while spending time at her beloved cottage
in Walton’s Beach. Muriel was a devoted and caring mother,
grandmother and great grandmother.
Muriel will be dearly missed by her
children, Terrlynn Allen and Jack Pauley; her grandchildren, Jonathan
Allen, Craig (Rosalyn) Allen, Karie (Shannon Pittman) Allen, Ryan
(Melissa) Allen, Jeff (Sara) Pauley and Jeremy (Katelyn) Pauley; her
great grandchildren, Lexi and Max Pauley, Edwin Allen, Sadie and Macie
Allen, Elly and Avery Allen, Riley Pittman and Cecilia and Theo
Pauley, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family
members.
Muriel was the last surviving member of
her immediate family, besides her parents, she was predeceased by her
husband, Earl, as well as ten sisters and one brother and her
son-in-law, Edward Allen.
The family wishes to extend their
gratitude to Tracy Richards for her friendship and compassion over the
past eight years.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of Jones Funeral Homes, Port
Elgin and Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). A time of visitation
will be held from their Port Elgin location on Monday, March 20, 2023
from 7-9 pm. A funeral service will take place at the
Trinity United Church, Port Elgin on Tuesday at 2 pm.
Interment to be held in the Fernwood Cemetery in the
spring
Donations in memory of Muriel may be
made to the LA Animal Shelter.
