On February 4, 2023 Louise departed from the planet she so loved. She was born on Dec. 31, 1937, the beloved first born of her deceased parents, Eugene and Margaret Lefebvre. Being the eldest,she felt very protective of her three sisters, Diane Lefebvre (Combermere, ON), Paulette Boyer (Alain Boyer dec.) (Alexandria, ON) and Johanne Gualtieri (Renaldo) (Dollard des Ormeaux, QC). She enjoyed the company of her extended family and enjoyed their lives and accomplishments.
She greatly loved her friends and recognized them as great gifts to be treasured.
Louise relocated to the K-W area in 1976 and had worked as an educator in Montreal and later in K-W. She felt privileged to belong to the teaching profession and felt this was her vocation. She was a voracious reader, prized learning and loved the excitement of world travel. She embraced causes long before they became more evident in mainstream consciousness. She championed the rights of women, stood with the marginalized, aided the poor, challenged authority when there was injustice and spoke for the care of the planet. She believed that if intelligence were not coupled with wisdom, it was like ‘blowing in the wind.’
Louise suffered from profound depression all of her life. She used many coping and holistic ways to cope with this and one way was to develop a quirky sense of humour.
Louise has chosen to be cremated and her remains interred in the family plot in Montreal. A private celebration of Louise’s life will be held at a later date.
