Jeff Jones passed away peacefully at the Owen Sound Hospital with family by his side on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the age of 67.
Preceded in death by his loving parents Harold and Anne Marie (nee Smith) Jones.
Jeff will be missed dearly by his beloved children Jason, Richard and Matthew (Jackie) Jones and his beloved grandchildren Vanessa, Ozias, and Neriah. Dear brother of Joyce Adams, Jo-Anne Flink (the late Fred Flink) and Jim (Lorna) Jones. He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews.
Jeff was born in Toronto on May 1, 1957. In the mid 60’s the family moved to Clarksburg when his father was posted to the Meaford Military Base. Jeff loved the area and land which contributed to him becoming a land surveyor at a young age. Jeff’s first surveying position was in Thunder Bay. Later he was given the opportunity to return with his family to the beautiful Beaver Valley area where he worked for many years surveying most of the southern Georgian Bay landscape.
Jeff loved nature and he loved his boys so becoming a scout leader for his children was a joy he took on with great pride. He led scouts for many years; first in Thornbury then in Collingwood. Camping and hiking was always a passion he had, a passion he loved sharing with his boys; teaching them to pitch tents and respect the beautiful nature given to us all. He loved building things with his boys such as box cars and model cars for racing, memories his boys will continue to cherish.
A private family service will take place this coming summer.
