Fern Ruth Densem
Passed away on June 10, 2023, age 78, in Toronto General Hospital following a lengthy period of ill health.
Pre-deceased by her brother, Jack Densem, she leaves a number of cousins and friends across Ontario and British Columbia who will remember her joie de vivre and seriousness of purpose put to the projects she was involved in.
Born and raised in Toronto, she had a rewarding and lengthy career, first with Consumers’ Gas, then with the Sisters of St. Joseph with all the adventures that a full working life can bring.
Fern was extensively involved in various capacities with Yorkminster Park Baptist Church over a number of past years, and continued to observe services via broadcast during retirement. She had a keen interest in current events, loved and supported live theatre, and enjoyed attending performances of the National Ballet of Canada.
In recent years, while dealing with ill health, she was grateful for the support she received from family however far away, good friends and neighbours, the staff of TGH and Sunnybrook Hospital, and others in the medical community. In accordance with her wishes, a private cremation has taken place.
