Elizabeth Mae “Betty” Holmes
Passed away peacefully at Dundas Manor in Winchester on Saturday January 13, 2024, at the age of 97. She was the daughter of George and Lula (Hill) Acres. Beloved wife of the late Woodrow Holmes. Loving mom of Sharon (Ted) Dukelow, George (Joan) Holmes, Darlene (Herbert) Holmes, Wayne (Shelley) Holmes and Kathy (Blair) Hillis. Cherished grandma to Kelly (Darold) Attrell, Kristy (Eric) Kehoe, Darryl (Melissa) Holmes, Bretny Holmes, Jesse Holmes, Kimberly (Jody) Scharf and Grant (Danielle) Hillis. Great-grandma to 12 and great-great grandma to 1. Betty is survived by her sister-in-law Peggy Holmes and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Lorne, Doug, Lillian, and Geraldine. As per Mom’s request, Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Betty’s Life Gathering will be held at the Winchester Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 472 Main Street East, Winchester on Friday June 7, 2024 from 11am to 1 pm. A Private Interment of the urn will be held later. Donations in memory of Betty may be made to Winchester District Memorial Hospital. A special thanks to the staff of Dundas Manor for their great care and compassion.
