It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Dianna (Smyth) Chase on April 18, 2024 at Neill Hall Shannex. Dianna was born in Salmon Creek, NB on November 26, 1943, daughter of the late Warren and Margaret (Fulton) Smyth.
Dianna was predeceased by her husband of almost 59 years, Raymond “Ray” Chase. She is survived by her two sons Jeffrey (Janice) of Gaspereau Forks and Kevin (Sharon) of Brigg’s Corner and two daughters, Andrea and Christina (Josh) of Fredericton. Grandchildren Matthew (Danielle), Brianne (Pascal), Madison (Scott), Mallory, Chandler, Faith, Parker, and Jenna. Great-grandchildren Emerson, Jackson and Layla.
Dianna leaves behind two sisters; Linda (Robert) Duffy of Puslinch, ON; Wanda Smyth of Riverview, NB; and one brother, Robert (Paulette) Smyth of Stroud, ON. Dianna also leaves behind sister-in-law Janice Smyth, and several nieces and nephews.
Dianna was predeceased by her parents along with two brothers, Ronald Smyth of Salisbury, NB and Brain Smyth of Georgetown, ON.
Dianna graduated in 1962 from Chipman Regional High School and furthered her education at Atlantic Business College. She was a working mom who was employed for many years at the Chipman Save Easy and later worked at the Atlantic Textile Glove Factory until she retired in 2008. She was a long-term member of the Chipman United Church, volunteering many hours to a variety of events and celebrations. If you couldn’t find Dianna in her kitchen baking bread or making broccoli salad, you could find her at the dinning room table with her corded phone in her hand.
As per family’s request there will be no visitation. A service will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Chipman United Church at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Postlethwaite officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chipman United Church Cemetery Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
