Obituary of Colette Janet Woolley
Colette Janet Woolley (April 10th, 1957 – June 20th, 2023)
On June 20th, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Colette passed peacefully at the Niagara Hospice in St. Catharines, ON. Beloved daughter of the late Lena and Robert Girard. Dear sister to Ronald Girard (late) and Linda Girard, and cherished aunt to her many beloved nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by many friends. Colette is survived by husband Maj (Ret’d) Alan Woolley, daughter Leah, and beloved cat Jinx.
Colette was born in Windsor, ON and raised in Harrow. She chose to raise her own family in Fort Erie, ON, in the peaceful quiet of the Crescent Park Community. She dedicated her career to helping children and spent many years working as a Youth Counsellor for the District Schoolboard of Niagara. She was a committed volunteer and greatly enjoyed her work with the Adult Literacy Council and Meals On Wheels, among others. She had a special place in her heart for cottage life, reading, swimming, and music. Above all, she adored taking her family and friends with her on intrepid adventures.
Benner Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements. In accordance with Colette’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life and Reception will be held at Central United Church (30 Delhi St, Port Colborne) on 26 August, 2023 from 10:30am to 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Colette’s memory are appreciated by the family.
