Christopher Glendon Short
2002-2023
It is with profound sadness and deep sorrow that we, the family of
Christopher Glendon Short, announce his passing, which occurred in
Calgary, AB, on February 1st, 2023. He was born in Fredericton, NB on
November 2, 2002, to his proud parents, Brian Short, of Fort McMurray,
AB; and Angela Rushton, of McAdam, NB.
Chris will also be sorely missed by his two sisters, Shelby Short
(Colton Morehouse) of Zealand, NB, and Shawna Short, of Woodstock, NB.
Although younger, Chris loved playing the role of big brother to both
of his sisters and cherished them with all his heart. Chris was a
proud uncle to Kenley and Kaysen Morehouse.
He is also survived by his grandparents Joyce and Donald Green of
Astle, NB, grandparents Gail and Darell Richard of Woodstock, NB, aunt
Tammy Short and uncle Daryl Cann of Hanwell, NB; aunt Kelly
Short-Martin and uncle Marc Martin of Hanwell, NB; aunt Sarah Short of
Marysville, NB; uncle Christopher Rushton of Calgary, AB; and uncle
Kevin Blair, of Leesburg, FL USA.
He also leaves behind cousins Heather, Hilary, Rebecca, Kelsey,
Zachary, Hannah and Octavia, as well as his best friend Dylan
Highers.
Christopher was predeceased by his grandfather, Glendon Short, as well
as his baby cousin Khloe.
Growing up in McAdam, NB, Christopher loved to play pranks and to
bring people joy, especially his sister Shawna, who everyone joked was
his “twin”. He was known to put the biggest smile on the
face of anyone he met, and was known to be a loyal friend, to a fault.
Christopher loved his family beyond measure and was always looking out
for everyone. He never thought twice about lending a helping hand, to
anyone in need, no questions asked. Christopher had the biggest heart,
which is what he will be most remembered for by anyone who had the
pleasure of being in his life.
He loved to spend time on his wheeler, exploring nature and driving
through the rip track. His bike was so loud it would often get him
into trouble. He always looked forward to visits to Fredericton with
his cousins, as they were guaranteed to get into something and they
always had the best of times. Growing up, he was especially close to
his cousin Zach. Christopher loved spending time with his friends and
listening to music. He spent time trying to learn to play guitar with
his mom, which he picked up so fast, just like anything he put his
mind to. He was very intelligent, teasing his sisters because he could
glance at notes without effort and get 100% on a test.
Christopher moved to Alberta in 2016, and proudly graduated from Frank
Spragins High School in 2021. He could usually be found spending time
with his dad, and their Boston Terrior Tucker. Tucker was always by
his side, and the light of his life.
There will be no viewing or funeral as per the family’s wishes.
However, there will be a private celebration of life ceremony at a
later date. Chris will be kept close to his families hearts always.
His final resting place is yet to be determined. In Chris’
memory, a memorial fund will be set up to help people who are
« down on their luck ». This is what Christopher would want
dearly. This always brought a smile to his face. Donations will be
accepted by email transfer at christophersjourney23@outlook.com. We,
his family, will continue his work.
