William Alfred (Bill) Best passed away at Quinte Healthcare North Hastings on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the age of 78 following a brief illness. Bill Best, beloved husband of Libby, loving father of Kelly (& Daryl) of Waterdown and Matthew (& Maria) of Toronto, lovingly remembered by Libby’s children, Andrew of Toronto and Rebecca (& Alec) of Brooklin, cherished grandfather of Jacob, Joshua, Joel, Melody, Summer, Jonathan, Ethan and Caitlyn and dear brother of Ruth Anderson of Whitby and Shirley (& Glen) Jenkins of Bancroft. Bill was predeceased by his brothers, Floyd and Barry and by his parents, Stephen and Mary (Musclow) Best. Bill was born and raised in Bancroft and following his education was employed for many years as a chemical engineer within the automotive industry. Bill was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church and the Bancroft chapter of the Masonic Order. He will be remembered for his walks around town and for his avid interest in rockhounding and minerals. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Neuman Family Funeral Home. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. John’s Anglican Church, Bancroft would be appreciated by the Best family.
