It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Verna Kelly on December 26, 2022.
Verna was predeceased by her loving husband Clifford Kelly in 2014. She is survived by her children, Brenda (Clifford), David (Laurel), Donald (Holly), Brian (Bari), Michael (Amy), 12 grand children and 7 great grandchildren.
Verna was born in Port Daniel – Gascons, Quebec on March 23, 1933. She met Cliff in Beauharnois, Quebec and they married on April 16, 1955, spending much of their lives in Montreal, Regina, and Pittsburgh, before retiring to Victoria in 1990. They were fortunate to have travelled extensively and loved to bring family together frequently for holidays. Mom had a passion for sports (skiing, golf, and tennis), travel, artwork, dishes, fine foods, and of course her cats. Verna was grateful for the experiences in her life, but her greatest treasure was always her family. She planted the seeds of faith, hope, love and charity in all our hearts.
A service will be held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church at 1611 Quadra St, Victoria, BC on January 7, 2023, at 1:30pm, where Verna will be laid to rest in the memorial garden with Cliff. A Celebration of Life will be held following the service at the Uplands Golf Club at 3300 Cadboro Bay Road from 3:30-5:30pm.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating in Verna’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
