BOURK, Susan
Elizabeth – Born April 7, 1953 in Red Deer, AB. Died June 6,
2022 in Moncton, NB. Loving mother of Tara (Rob) McKee (Pobihushchy).
Proud grandmother of Michael and Anna McKee. Cherished sister to Russ
(Lindsay) Bourk and Deborah Bourk (Michael Kelly), and beloved aunt to
Zane Bourk (Martine Wright).
Susan showed
talent as an artist in high school and thought of becoming an art
teacher like her mentor. In the end, she studied fashion merchandising
and went on to a successful career in retail before becoming a dental
receptionist in Red Deer, AB.
Sue loved
being a mom, and she and her daughter drove a motorhome across Canada
with their dear dog, Ryland, to visit places of interest and
universities Tara might attend. Sue moved to Victoria, BC to
be close to family and, with her brother’s family, spent
quality time and cared for her father in his later
years.
When Tara
started a family in Moncton, Sue moved to New Brunswick without
hesitation. There she proudly supported her daughter and son-in-law in
their careers. She often ferried her treasured grandchildren to her
place for fun after school, never refusing to play goalie if asked,
and happily attended countless soccer, football and hockey games. Snow
days meant a picnic in Nana’s living room. And Sue always
spoiled her beloved dogs, including her granddog Te’o. A
faithful woman who thought of others before herself, Sue was a kind
and generous grandma, mom, daughter, sister, aunt and true
friend.
