The Grey Nuns announces the passing of Sister Therese Bouchard of Youville Home, St. Albert, Alberta, on December 4, 2022, at the age of 88.
Sister was born in Tangente, Alberta, on February 26, 1934. She was the sixth in a family of seventeen. She joined the Grey Nuns in August of 1953. She pronounced her first vows in Montreal on August 15, 1956. Then five years later, 1961, she pronounced her perpetual vows. She was sent to Beauval, Saskatchewan, in 1957 as a care-giver for the junior girls. Other places where she exercised her skills as a supervisor of children was in Ile-a-la Crosse, Saskatchewan, and Cardston, Alberta; she also served at Lac Ste. Anne and the Edmonton General Hospital. She was adept at sewing and other tasks. She was known to be a great teaser and playing tricks on her companions. We remember her as one who shared the gifts she received.
She leaves to mourn her Grey Nun companions; her sisters: Valrona Chabot, Pierrette (Giles) Ayotte, Suzanne Dika; brothers: Albert, Edmond, Romeo (Darlene), André (Therese) Bouchard; and many nieces and nephews.
Reverend Ed Kosa, OMI, will celebrate the Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with a Visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta.
Interment to follow at St. Albert Catholic Cemetery, 7A St Vital Ave, St. Albert, Alberta.
