Obituary of Shirley Elizabeth Smallwood
Passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the age of 84 years.
Survived by her children Debra Smallwood (Lesley), David Smallwood (Sharon) and Dennis Smallwood (Sherry) and her grandchildren Kayla and Dylan Smallwood.
Predeceased by her parents Vera and Irvin Schneider.
Shirley was born on April 23,1938 in Kitchener, Ontario. Shirley spent 38 years at Lear Corporation. While at Lear, Shirley developed many lifelong friendships. After retirement, Shirley embarked on a whole new chapter and became a snowbird where she made her winter home in Port Charlotte, Florida. Shirley found herself surrounded by friends who became family and for 23 years they became a community that only grew stronger. Going to Florida was something Shirley looked forward to every year. Anyone who went to visit her there, realized this was Shirley’s paradise.
A celebration of Shirley’s life and a time to visit with her family will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, Fireside Reception Room on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 2-5 pm. Cremation will have taken place and a private family interment will occur at a later date.
