Ronald Duncan (R.D.) Chisholm, 82, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 11th, 2022 at the farm he loved in Alexandria, Ontario. R.D. was the loving husband of Mary Chisholm, and they were proudly entering into the 50th year of their marriage. He was the adored father of Donna and Michael (Elizabeth), the proud grandfather of Matthew (Amber), Jennifer (Randy) and Brandie, and great-grandfather of Jax and Parker. He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Mary Catherine McBean (Archie, deceased) and Florence McBean (Geordie, deceased). He was predeceased by his parents, John and Marguerite Chisholm (McDonell), his sister Sheila Rourke (Sandy), and his brother, Alan Chisholm. R.D.’s life was lived with integrity and compassion. He always saw the good in people and treated everyone, including all living things both big and small, with kindness and respect.
Funeral arrangement
Services will be held at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Chesterville, on Friday, December 2nd from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and 6:00p.m. – 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday, December 3rd from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. The family will be present and welcomes you to attend. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3rd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chesterville, followed by an Inurnment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, County Road #7, Chesterville. Afterwards, loved ones will gather between 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Nelson Leprade Centre, #9 William Street, Chesterville. All are welcome to join. Memorial donations in R.D.’s honour may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society. Your thoughtfulness and generosity are much appreciated by the entire family.
