Roland Coderre

Roland Coderre, beloved husband of Anita Coderre (nee Rosgen), passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the age of 74. “Whatch’a gonna do?”
Born on April 8, 1947, to George and Anna (he was “a keeper”!), Roland grew up in James River Bridge, Alberta, along with his four older brothers. Upon graduating high school, Roland began a lifelong career with UFA in 1965 that continued until his retirement in 2008. His lengthy career brought him to Stettler where he met the love of his life, Anita. They were married in 1970 and their family was complete with the births of their daughters Joyce and Lorena. His career brought him and his family to multiple locations across Alberta including Stettler, Falher, Lethbridge, Airdrie, Edmonton and Calgary where he met many friends that he treasured for his entire life. In his free time, he was an avid hunter who loved camping, quadding and his cats. Whenever it was time to go home, he always said he had to “go feed the cats” instead of admitting he was tired.
In addition to Anita, Roland is survived by his two daughters, Joyce Wilson and Lorena (Chris) Mabley; grandchildren Aidan Wilson, Emma Mabley, Ryan Mabley, Austin Mabley and Skylar Mabley; brothers Leo (Marie) and Omer (Brenda); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jerry (Janie) Rosgen, Jim (Jan) Rosgen, Tony (Bev) Rosgen, Bob (Lisa) Rosgen, Elly Coderre, Carol (Dave) Chorney, Wendy Rosgen and Shelley (Pat) Yavis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents George (1980) and Anna (1990); brothers Roger (2008) and Armand (1973); father-in-law Edward Rosgen (1996); mother-in-law Ruby Rosgen (2014); brother-in-law William Rosgen (2021) and nephew Dennis Coderre (2016).
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada at www.alzheimer.ca.
