It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the sudden passing of Robert Dubois (born July 14, 1975)
Robert passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 due to a tragic work place accident at the age of 47. He was a proud member of the Iron Workers Union Local 786 in Sudbury and for many years he was also a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 728 in Winnipeg where he started his career. Robert was passionate about his profession and always worked safely. He especially loved being on the steel and working at heights. Throughout his career he had the opportunity to work on many major projects. Robert was a friend to many of his fellow Iron Workers and will be missed by his brothers and sisters.
Robert was a realist. No matter the situation, good or bad, he always took it in stride, never blaming others for the situation he was in. He had an energy and a smile that were contagious. You could not avoid being drawn to him; he was so charismatic. Robert was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was authentically and wholeheartedly there for the family and friends in his life. Little be known to many of us, Robert loved a manicured lawn and enjoyed gardening. He had quite the green thumb and was so proud of the fruits of his labour. Robert took fashion cues from no one. His signature every day look was all his!
Those who knew Robert, even just a little, have lost a shinning light in their life. Love you forever and always Robert! Xoxo
Robert is survived by his mother, Suzette Dubois-Quenneville his stepfather Andre Quenneville, his father Marcel Dubois and his wife Bonnie Krasniuk. Most cherished grandson to Lily and Rudy (pre-deceased) Lalonde and Hector and Cecile Dubois (pre-deceased). Beloved brother to Marcelle Dubois (Patrick Matte), stepbrother to Alain and Lisa Quenneville. Most adored uncle to Sophie and Amelie Matte-Dubois. He will be forever remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Robert will be especially missed by his pet dog, Opie. They shared an unconditional love and respect that warmed his heart.
Memorial Visitation at the Lougheed Funeral Home Hanmer/Capreol Chapel, 4605 Michelle Dr., Hanmer on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 2-5; 7-9pm and after 10am Wednesday. Memorial Service will be held in the chapel in Hanmer on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
