It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Nirmala Jeyasooriyan (affectionately known as Nimmi) announce her passing on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the age of 66.
Rita will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Jay; children, Charlton, Jerome (Suzy), Marsha (Marc); grandchildren, Tiarra, Jonavon, Shanavon, Shaiden, Shahaun, Anessa, Jasmine, Enoch, Bella, Ariel, Ella, Alara, Alyssa; nephews (of her twin), Stefan, Diayan and Keron; and siblings, Loretta, Neeta (deceased), Ruban, Anna, Grace, John and numerous other family members and friends. Rita was predeceased by her mother Charlotte Vijeyaratnam and was loved by her father Joseph Vijeyaratnam (deceased).
Rita’s legacy was one of exalting and glorifying her Lord and Saviour Jesus. She was a hard working and faithful woman who did everything with excellence and care. Until the end of her life she was known, by many, a woman of prayer.
To celebrate her life, a viewing will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 4:00 p.m., at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1S-1T3. A Viewing & Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., at Global Kingdom Ministries, 1250 Markham Road, Scarborough, ON M1H-2Y9.
The family also wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Scarborough Rouge Network Centenary for their care and compassion.
