Born in Didsbury, Alberta February 14, 1955 – Peacefully passed away in Castlegar April 13, 2022
Randy grew up and spent his whole life living in the West Kootenays. Most of that in Nelson and eventually in Castlegar.
Randy is survived by his son Aaron Reese (Tineke), and granddaughter Sarah. He is also survived by his long-time friend Keitha Cummings, step daughter Kara Durham, brother Jerry Reese (Darleen), Sister Lavern Simpson (Lionel), Sister Sandra Roy (Leo), Brother Warren Reese (Kim) and Brother Stanley Reese (Alison) along with many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
There are two things that describe Randy in his life’s journey. First and foremost Randy was a truck driver through and through. Randy’s first job was a truck driver, Randy’s last job was a truck driver and every job Randy had in between was as a truck driver.
Throughout Randy’s life if he wasn’t driving truck he was driving some other motorized vehicle. His boat on Kootenay Lake, his dirt bike up the mountains, his motor bike around town, or one of the many vehicles he owned. What you would never find Randy on, was a peddle bike, walking trail, hiking trail or any other non-motorized form of motion. Randy’s mantra in life was “If I can’t drive there, I don’t go there.” Through a large part of Randy’s life he loved to fish and ski, but again, only if he could drive there.
Anyone who met or knew Randy knows that the second thing that describes him was “A kind soul”. If you were a friend of Randy’s, you were a true friend. There was nothing Randy wouldn’t do to help out a friend. Randy stayed close to his family by ensuring he made frequent calls, mostly just to say hi, but always to say he loved them.
Randy will be missed by all those people who he touched. In loving memory to a father, grandfather, brother and friend.
