Peacefully at the Palace LTC on Friday, April 29, 2022. Peter Gordon MacSweyn of McCrimmon Corners; age 96 years. Beloved husband to Christena Margaret “Tena” MacSweyn (née McCormick). Loving father of John (Jen), Wayne (Karen Ruest), Bobby (Marielle Leblanc), Elizabeth MacSweyn (Tim Nolan) and Eric (Cynthia). Predeceased by his parents John MacSweyn and Christena Margaret McCaskill also by his brother Donald Hugh. Peter is survived by his sisters: Anna Margaret Hay (late Alexander) and Jean Anne McRae (late Melvin); also by 6 grandchildren: Derek, Blair, Hayley, Jamie, Sam and Jacob. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. The family wishes to extend a big heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the staff at the Palace LTC for the care that Peter received. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). Cremation has taken place, and a private committal service will be held in the Kirkhill United Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Peter a tree will be planted in a memory woods.
