Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Patricia Anne Davis, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on September 6, 2022, at home in Calgary with family at her side. She was 90 years old.
Pat was born on September 30, 1931, in Winnipeg where she spent her formative years surrounded by a large family network that included her parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends until she graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Interior Design.
Her first job after graduation took her to Regina in 1952 where she would meet the love of her life, Hugh. They wed in 1953 and began an amazing life together raising four wonderful children and would share sixty-one wonderful years together. They shared many mutual interests including dear friends, playing bridge, reading, and travelling the world. She also had several charitable organizations that she was active with and donated her time to. During her life, she garnered a wealth of friends who shared her interests and remained an important part of her life until the end. Her advice and guidance were often sought out by her family and friends and it was always given with love and thoughtfulness.
She was a wonderful woman and her legacy and memory will be cherished and kept alive by her children Jane Edler and Peter Davis (Jody). Grandchildren Nick (Kelli), Sara (Kevin), Patrick Edler, Christopher, Sean, Mackenzie, and Emily; great-grandchildren Hudson, Hailey, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins all of whom she loved dearly. She will especially be missed by her cousin and best friend Sheila Horan. She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh; sons Corrie (Renee), Michael (Shelley); her sister Noreen Chandler; her brother John Coughlin; and by her parents, Gertrude (nee MacDonald) and Corrie Coughlin.
According to the wishes of Pat and the family, there will not be a funeral. A get-together for friends and family will be held in the future. Donations may be made in Pat’s name to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, The Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choosing.
