Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of Milton Allison Palmer share that he went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Milton was born in Astle, NB on December 23, 1928, son of the late Charles and Lena (Taylor) Palmer.
Milton is survived by his loving and devoted wife Ada (Munn) Palmer of 69 years, their children Clark (Sherry), Dwight (Heather), Cathy (Harold), Judy (Mike), Roly (Sue) and Brent (Cheryl), as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Milton is also survived by two sisters, Betty and Faye, one brother Charles (Myrna) from Ontario, and was predeceased by his brother, Hubert.
From a young age, Milton was a hard-working and devoted person with a can-do attitude. He worked at the Canadian National Railway (CNR), then went to the Irving Pulp and Paper Mill and retired from there after more than 30 years of service. Milton was a veteran of the Korean War.
Milton enjoyed hunting and spending time with family at their camp in Boiestown. He enjoyed working in his garage, especially supervising and prepping jobs for his son-in-law, Mike. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and was considered to be a ‘jack of all trades’. Milton was always willing to help anyone in need.
Milton was a long-time and faithful member of the Grand Bay Baptist Church, devoting time to the Boys Brigade for many years, being a role model for many of the young boys.
Keeping with Milton’s wishes, and with the exceptional care provided by the Extra Mural Team, Anne LeBlanc (VA Nurse), and Dr. Webb, he was able to remain at home during his final days, surrounded by his family.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home. Milton will be resting at the Grand Bay Baptist Church, 77 Woolastook Drive, Grand Bay-Westfield, NB with visitation taking place on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral service will be held from the Grand Bay Baptist Church on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery following the service and reception. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, remembrances can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
