Mildred Matilda (Steeves) Babin
1934-2022
SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – It is with great sadness
that we announce the passing of Mildred Matilda (Steeves) Babin on
Monday, June 6, 2022 at the age of 87. She was the daughter
of the late Harold Steeves and Evelyn (Bovaird) Steeves of Elgin,
NB.
Mildred was a telephone operator in Petitcodiac, NB then a
homemaker in Saint-Louis-de-Kent, NB. She loved going to
concerts at Casino NB with her much loved cousin Gail Roberts of
Elglin, NB and dear friend Hilda MacPherson of Petitcodiac,
NB.
Mildred will be sadly missed by her daughter Bernardine
Babin-Slack (late Peter Slack) of Riverview, NB, beloved grandson
Scott Slack of Riverview, NB; sisters-in-law Violette Cormier (Norman)
of Bathurst, NB, Blanche Craig (Vinnie) and Nancy Babin (late Hermel)
both of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her husband
of 60 years, the late Reginald Babin; brother, late Vernon Steeves
(late Jacqueline); infant sister, late Barbara Steeves;
brothers-in-law, late George Babin (Noella) and the late Bruna Babin
(late Louise).
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home
in Richibucto on Friday beginning at 1:00 pm until time of the
service. A Celebration of Mildred’s life will be
held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 2:00 pm, Thompson’s Funeral
Home in Richibucto.
